What our professors are telling us - that it is really very good for the company to be consistent in the things it is doing. And at my exam I wrote that consistensy is one of the key success factors, got an A and was very happy.
But if I am thinking about the topic I am not sure in that at all. If everything around is changing your consistency is not that good.
If you want to be have a consistant success you probably do not need to be consistent in your actions. Maybe even flexibility is better to some extent. If you want to have a sustainably high level of customer service, for example,you need to change your operations all the time in order to satisfy new requirements.
